My Midlife Weight Loss: Mindset

I shared on Instagram that I'm on a bit of a weight loss journey.  I'd say "wellness" but, for me, that begins with weight loss.  As a woman in midlife...  First of all, it is still so weird to say that.  Today, we're talking about "mindset" and that is a great beginning point.  

Why am I writing this?  I thought long and hard about sharing these posts and, for now, have decided to.  I may delete them all in one fell swoop one day, but I want to document this journey that is still in its early stages.  Every day there is a new insight, win, challenge and more.  It's an exhilarating journey if I have the right mindset.  What I find so exciting and rewarding today is because of the last few months.  

For today, let's touch on the very beginning of the topic of mindset.  I think the first thing I had to do is realize my age.  I feel much younger than my 54 years, but I must face reality.  I am 54 years old.  Once I just sat in that for a bit, I started following more women my age on Instagram and embracing this community.  I started envisioning the future and what I wanted that to look like - for me, my husband, my family.  And so it began...
